Editorial policy

Our aim is simple: give UK households accurate, useful and independent information about energy.

How we write

Every guide is written for WattWise Home and is original. We check facts against primary sources such as Ofgem, GOV.UK and the Energy Saving Trust, and we avoid quoting prices or grant levels that change often without telling you where to check the current figure.

Keeping content current

Each guide shows when it was last updated. We review guides when rules, schemes or price caps change, and we correct errors promptly.

Advertising and independence

Advertisers cannot pay for, review or influence our content. Ads are served by Google AdSense, are always labelled as advertisements, and are kept separate from our guides. We do not publish guides to attract clicks on ads, and we never ask you to click on them.
